Child’s immunity depends on healthy and vibrant digestion, they will eat anything as long as it's tasty, and this is why they gravitate towards candy, cookies, and anything that will give them a sugar rush; they also recoil from the of eating vegetables and natural foods because of the bland taste. Hence, you need to ensure that your child gets immunity-boosting foods. When immunity is fostered with proper health care, then each cell functions very well in your child.

The reason many parents hesitate to try Ayurveda is that the results can be slow, but even though the results are gradual, they are long-lasting as well. Parents are doubtful about Ayurveda because they expect the cure to be immediate, and you can't blame them because this notion is set up by the prescription medication industry, which enables instant gratification. Ayurveda is an ancient science of life being over 5000 years old, and it helps keep your child in tune with the seasons, maintains their circadian rhythms, and encourages them to eat organic-seasonal food. It also included in substantial meals, served at the same time daily and has all the nutrition that a growing body needs.

The healthier child will be happier them self. According to Ayurveda methods, there are three essential doshas in the human body, and it's vital that you maintain a healthy balance within them. In the upcoming section, we will take you through each dosha and the prevalent traits that will help restore your child's immunity. Immunity is also directly proportional to your gut, so if your child falls sick regularly, it can mean that there is something wrong with their stomach. If your child has a poor appetite, it can mean that their digestion is dull. This can happen when impurities and toxins build up in the digestive tract; this waste is called ama in Ayurveda.

Ayurveda celebrates differences, and it's a unique system of medication that does not include a "one-size-fits-all" concept. It's a medical concept that celebrates the health of each individual. This concept applies to children as well, as every kid is different depending on their genetic makeup. You can take an Ayurvedic test to determine your child's current physical state and balance.

Few tips on Ayurvedic home remedies to be helpful for cure and healing

  1. Honey-A well-loved – and tasty – natural remedy, honey is a sure-fire way to ease a ticklish throat. Honey soothes irritated membranes by coating the throat, making swallowing less painful. (To be given only if cough is associated with phlegm)
  2. Steam inhalation- This helps a whole lot of runny nose come out immediately and clears the system. Add Tulsi leaves or  essential oils, such as eucalyptus which relieves congestion. Repeat the process every day if required twice a day. Alternatively, for older children make a steam bowl or use steam inhalers and add just plain water for steaming purpose.
  3. Pani koorka (Karpooravalli/Coleus aromatics)- The leaves are used for treating common cold, cough and fever in childs and adults. Either the leaves can put in steamer for inhale or boil the leaves for 4-5 minutes in a cup of water. Once cool down, feed 2 tablespoon of water to children.
  4. Ginger juice-It has anti-inflammatory properties. Due to its anti-inflammatory compounds it helps relax membranes in the airways, which reduces coughing. The researchers mainly studied the effects of ginger on human cells and animals and more research is necessary. (1/2 Ginger boiled in 500 ml water can give it to your kid with running nose and cough. Give it every now and then to drink for few days)
